About Us
Steve Orsary
After beginning his studies in chemistry, Steve received a BA in English Literature, Summa Cum Laude, from Kent State University where he was an active poet and editor. He has continued to resolve the differences between other apparently opposing views such as science and energy work, as he creatively engages perceptive and insightful skills in his work with people. Steve has taken his metaphysical awareness into the business world, where he worked in sales and customer care in the printing industry for over 30 years, maintaining many warm and heartful relationships, and he can assist people who are
MaryAnn Orsary
MaryAnn is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has a psychotherapy practice in San Rafael in addition to her Bioenergy Balancing practice in Corte Madera.
MaryAnn’s career as a healer started in her 20s, when she was an Attunement practitioner in the urban intentional community where she and Steve met. In her 30s she studied Bioenergy Balancing with Priscilla Kapel and became a certified practitioner. MaryAnn was drawn to excel in caring for her clients emotionally and psychologically, and in her 40s, she earned her BA from the California Institute of Integral Studies and her Masters in

Together...
Steve and MaryAnn form a complementary, co-creative team, each often picking up where the other leaves off, switching roles and balancing each other easily. They enjoy working together, and are also available to see clients individually.
Attunement
MaryAnn and Steve have been practicing the process called Attunement since 1981. Attunement allows a flow of life current through the hands to address specific positive and negative vibrational gateways in the body. It primarily engages the endocrine glands, which correspond very closely to the chakra system, but also is applied to specific organs, tissues, chakras and energy fields in order to bring balance and alignment with Source. This alignment is at the heart of everything, so although Attunement is not intended specifically as a healing technique, when Attunement occurs, healing often follows.

sorting out uncomfortable conflicts between spiritual values, business ethics and personal fulfillment.
Having spent 12 years living in intentional community, he is also closely familiar with resolving the conflicts that can arise within and among people, while maintaining our highest visions. He is adept at working with energy fields, creating and using tools and methods to be used in clearings, and at releasing resistant energies or intrusions.
Steve was certified as a Bioenergy Balancing Practitioner in 1995 by Priscilla Kapel, the founder of the practice, and since Priscilla retired from teaching in 2006, he has been on the teaching team of the Bioenergy Balancing Training Program certifying new practitioners. He has pursued shamanic studies with the Institute for Shamanic Studies with Michael Harner, with The Four Winds Society with Alberto Villoldo, and with Suzanne Savage and Kent Dorsey who studied with Sandra Ingerman. He has special interest in the Munay-Ki, the nine sacred rites of the Inka Q’ero elders from the high mountains of Peru, and through the Four Winds School he has received and learned to transmit these rites. Steve spends his early Sunday mornings communing with the spirit of our local Mount Tamalpais, holding presence, doing ceremony, and hiking around the shoulders of the Mother. Activities include walking 1500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, canoeing, nature photography, writing poetry and singing classical music.
Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Imaginal Studies. She left her career in Human Resources--yes, she was that person in the office who always had people stopping at her desk to talk--to intern as a therapist and to train in the Hakomi method of body-centered psychotherapy.
Her style as a practitioner is loving, curious, human and deeply accepting of her clients. She brings intensely sensitive listening skills, a depth of intuitive perception, and a warm, caring heart to her work.
She is a teacher and administrator of the Bioenergy Balancing Training program. She enjoys tending her summer vegetable garden and making fine meals out of the harvest, reading great novels, and walking between the tidal creek and oak-covered hills in her neighborhood, which have been cleverly disguised as a suburb.
